INTRO
The "Hepatitis E" project is a user interface (UI) design initiative centered on creating a single, visually compelling homepage for a public health awareness website. The site's purpose is to educate the general public about Hepatitis E, covering topics such as transmission, prevention, and symptoms. The design focuses heavily on a visually appealing hero banner to immediately capture attention and convey the site's professional, health-focused authority, serving as the digital entry point for crucial public health information.
CONCEPT
The core concept for the "Hepatitis E" homepage is "Immediate Clarity and Preventative Calm." The design must use powerful visual elements, especially the hero banner, to immediately convey the site's critical health message without causing panic. The concept dictates a clean, minimalist aesthetic that prioritizes factual content and professional visuals. The hero section must be used not just for appeal, but for clear, concise messaging and a prominent call-to-action, setting a tone of reliable education and encouraging users to seek further preventative information.
CHALLENGE
The main challenge lies in creating a visually appealing design that appropriately addresses a sensitive public health topic like Hepatitis E without resorting to fear-mongering or overly clinical visuals. Specific hurdles include designing a hero banner that is impactful yet reassuring; ensuring the layout efficiently balances brief, critical text with supporting multimedia content (e.g., icons, simple infographics); and establishing an immediate sense of clinical authority and accessibility to encourage users to trust the health information provided.
GOAL
The primary goals of this project are to design an exceptionally visually appealing homepage that effectively utilizes the hero banner to instantly communicate the site's focus and authority. A key objective is to drive initial user engagement and trust by balancing professional design with an accessible tone. Ultimately, the design must guide the user into the main content areas, successfully promoting awareness and preventative action related to Hepatitis E.
TARGET USER AESTHETICS
The target user aesthetic for the "Hepatitis E" homepage is Clinical Approachability. The visual design must be clean, bright, and highly professional, appealing to a wide general audience seeking credible health information. This aesthetic is defined by extensive white space, a structured layout, and a color palette that leverages professional health tones (e.g., light blues, crisp whites, and a grounding neutral color) combined with clear, legible typography. The overall look should convey trust, clarity, and competence, making the information feel reassuring and easy to absorb.
